Law Plus Plus was formed in 2012 (as R. W. Bobholz Law, PLLC) with the goal of changing the legal system. The firm’s founder, Richard Bobholz, interviewed at dozens of law firms and had first hand experience being a client to a law firm while in law school. The one unifying theme he was made aware of was that law firms were an unfortunate struggle to work with.
The goal to change the legal system solidified into the goal of making the legal system easier for the community and clients of the firm. Law++ makes the legal system easier through a number of virtues, policies and programs offered by the attorneys.
The first virtue is the virtue of offering exceptionally personal service while providing top of the line workmanship. The initial consultations are free and the attorneys take the time necessary to ensure that their clients are fully informed of every consideration in their case. It’s important to the firm to ensure that no client is left unsure about an aspect of their case or their representation.
Accountability is a major portion of being able to offer this exceptional service. The attorneys at Law++ use accountability to learn and grow. The knowledge that all attorneys must own any and all mistakes helps prevent them from happening in the first place and ensures that the attorneys learn and grow when mistakes do happen.
The firm has a policy of telling the client when every mistake happens, even when the mistake has already been fixed. This helps the attorneys grow and the clients know that although mistakes can happen, they will be fixed immediately.
Law++ has a policy that demands the attorneys are constantly teaching themselves and others new areas of law, or become more experienced in the areas of law they already know. To showcase this knowledge, the attorneys average one blog article per week per attorney on topics relevant to the community. The attorneys also regularly attend pertinent Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars to broaden their knowledge base.
Another important policy of Law++ is that the attorneys dedicate hundreds of hours every year to helping the community through pro bono work and community service. They participate in established programs such as Lawyer on the Line (LOTL), NC 4ALL, NC LEAP and the Duke and UNC Cancer Clinics, as well as starting their own programs such as the December 30 Companies in 30 Days pro bono project and the Wills for Single Mothers campaign.
A smaller part of how Law++ makes the legal system easier is the EasyFee™ menu. The EasyFee™ menu is a list of nearly 50 items that are flat rate for businesses or individuals. This eliminates the uncertainty with regards to how much the client’s bill will be and is valuable to those who desire predictable prices.
